Dr. Sojo received a scholarship and commission with the US Air Force, where he completed a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Over 30 years, he served overseas, taking on various leadership roles, from director to leading disaster response teams. In 2015, he retired as a Colonel and moved to Tampa to continue private practice.

With expertise in Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Sojo’s compassionate approach aids patients with dental phobias. In his free time, he enjoys family moments, scuba diving, boating, snowboarding, and music.

Meet Jesus Sojo, DMD

Dr. Jesus L. Sojo currently practices at Northwood Dental, one of the premier Tampa Bay Area dental offices in Clearwater, FL. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico in 1986, he earned a commission as an officer in the US Army and completed a tour in Germany. Upon completing his Army service, he pursued a new course and began studies at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, from which he obtained his dental degree in 1996.

Dr. Sojo received a scholarship and commission with the US Air Force

where he completed a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry and advanced courses in Pathology, Oral Surgery, Forensics, and Orofacial Pain. He served overseas in the Pacific and Europe for 12 consecutive years, maintaining a comprehensive general dentistry practice in addition to senior-level duties, including director of 2 dental facilities, leader of mass disaster contingency response teams, and staffing new dentists in a residency program.

After 30 years of military service, Dr. Sojo retired from the Air Force as a Colonel in 2015 and moved to Tampa to continue his practice in the private sector. He has vast experience in Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and Cosmetic Dentistry and a unique caring approach for patients with dental phobias, helping them to overcome fear and restore the confidence to seek care and improve their oral health. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, scuba diving, boating, snowboarding, motorcycle riding, and music.
